A local community came together in a big way for Wesley Reimer and his family following a life threatening car accident that has impacted so many. The event, organized by “Wesley’s prayer team” served as both a prayer gathering and a fundraiser to help the Reimers during an incredibly difficult time. For those who attended, the night left a lasting impression.
To Jacoby Janssen, one of the attendees, what stood out the most was, “Just the amount of prayer”. He described how people from all different connections showed up, explaining that, “People that didn’t know Wesley were there, and they were showing support, just the pure support and love they had for the Reimers and faith in Jesus was so powerful.”
The atmosphere in the room reflected that same sense of unity and faith. “I’d say, it was very warm, and very welcoming,” Janssen said, “one of the main things we were trying to do is welcome the Holy Spirit into the room, but he was already there.”
Beyond the gathering itself, support for Wesley has extended throughout the community. According to Janssen, “So many people are going to see Wesley and pray over him, churches and youth groups are as well.” This is showing that support for the family goes past just one night.
While Janssen mentioned he was expecting there to be a lot more people, yet the impact of those who did attend was clear. One of the most meaningful moments came at the end of the night. “Just the recognition, not just for me, but all of the youth that went and openly expressed their faith.” he said. This event also made a major difference financially, More than $6,100 was raised in a single night, doubling what had been collected earlier in the week.
For Janssen, the takeaway was simple but strong: “God is real. God is Moving. People’s lives are changing because of it. When Wesley returns it will be proof right there, its gonna be powerful.”
This night wasn’t just about raising money, it was about showing up, standing together as a community, and believing in something bigger.
