It’s time to run, and do you know who the greats are? You should see it, it’s the bulldogs after months of waiting and running, they finally got their chance to run for regionals and hopefully made it to state. It’s been a rough year with the high temperatures and tons of kids trying out, but they can finally look back on all they’ve overcome this season. While everyone was going home right as the bell rang, the track team stayed and ran to get to state. They also have had countless practices, whether it was 99 degrees or 32 degrees and pouring down rain, no matter what the conditions were, our team ran as if they would never be able to run again. This season specifically has seen some really high temperatures, so hot that I bet you could smell the rubber burning, but the hot temperatures really make it harder for all to keep up and catch their breath. However, our team has probably been warmed up and ready to run through it. We have the best track team in the valley, and they’ll surely make it through and run until they can’t anymore. Junior Gaberial Deherrera says, “ he has worked really hard to get to this point and finally get the chance to get to the state.” And honestly, he should’ve made it. He did amazing when it came to the race, but came short and didn’t make it to state. We did have a good number of students who made it to state, finally getting their chance to show that they were meant for the championship and were ready to make it to that point and win. So make sure to keep the state runners in your mind and cheer them on while they run for the school.
