On Thursday, April 11th, the Palisade Varsity Boys Baseball team lost their game-winning streak to Fruita Monument High School by 2 points, with the ending score being 8-6.
The Palisade Bulldogs have been on a streak of 11 winning games. Fruita has been the only team to have beaten the Bulldogs this season. Palisade started strong, scoring five runs in the opening innings. Senior Tobyn Trottier highlighted the early winnings; Trottier went 1-for-3 with a base-clearing double and 3 Runs Batted In. Fruita was determined and came out strong with Blake Elsberry, who worked a fast inning to get the Wildcats back to the plate in the bottom of the fifth. Senior Trottier comments on the game, “The game on Thursday didn’t go as the team had planned, but it was still fun!” The team really shows their teamwork and how much they support each other through their attitude on the bench. The team shows so much excitement for each other when there is a great accomplishment made by one of the players. “It felt great hitting a double to put us up 3 in the second half. I was expecting to win going into the game, but the cards didnt play out for us. The team always works well together, but everyone has their off days. Will Seriani started the game great off the mount, and Dylon Larson had a nice rip to center, sending me home for another score.” Comments Trottier. The Bulldogs have been showing their amazing work and are currently ranked second in 4A.
