The week of March third 2026, the Palisade Paw Post Student of the Week is the junior Aidan Shaio. Shaio is honored to have this title. Shaio is a multi-sport athlete who plays football and basketball for Palisade High School. Shaio works toward college goals and has worked toward this goal for three years now.
Shaio works hard in athletics and academics saying “I think it’s a pretty cool achievement, especially not only being recognized for just athletics but also academically” This shows Shaio’s dedication to school and sports. Shaio’s strives to pursue his athletics into college saying “I would like to go the college for sure probably go play football somewhere, and if not, I’m gonna get a degree and try to be an orthopedic surgeon, that’s my goal” showing that he strives to do great things and he wants to do a lot with his life. Shaio loves both sports but he states “to be honest it differs but, to be honest it’s whatever I am playing at the time.” basically saying Shaio likes both sports but he likes the one he is playing more.
This story shows how athletes aren’t just good at sports. Shaio works with academics and spends lots of time on his school work. Shaio also enjoys school because of the great connections that he makes with classmates and teachers that teach him new and important skills and lessons. Shaio shared some of the teachers he has connected with, “There’s so many good teachers, to name a few. I’m gonna leave some out because there’s so many. I’m a big fan of Ms. Martinez, Mr. Davis, and Mr. Wyant. Just to name a few. Shiao is a great choice for Student of the Week working hard academically as well as athletically. Thanks for reading and who knows you might be the next Student of the Week.
