This last Saturday, April 4, 2026 the Grand Junction Lacrosse team went up against the Durango Demons and ended up defeating them 21-0. With the win, Grand Junction improves to 8-1 on the season and remains at second in the league standings.
From the opening faceoff, Grand Junction controlled the whole field. The offense got going early and didn’t slow down. At the same time, Junction’s defense stayed locked in, preventing any scoring opportunities and securing a complete shutout. The team was able to maintain intensity and overpower the Durango Demons which played a major role in the lopsided victory. Brady Campbell led the scoring effort with five goals, helping the team achieve their win. Grand Junction also showed its depth, with multiple players all contributing and gaining valuable varsity experience.
According to Junior Jaquoix Bavor, the game went according to plan and also highlighted the team’s overall mindset. “The game on Friday went as planned. We all really wanted to play as a team and overall had a fun time just playing the game” comments Bavor said. One of his favorite moments came when more players were able to get involved. “My favorite moment was probably when everyone got in. We got to see all our twos and threes get in the game, and it was just enjoyable to watch them actually get to play in a Varsity game.” he said.
With another strong win, Grand Junction Lacrosse continues to carry its momentum forward as the season goes on. If Grand Junction can continue to play with this same level of energy, teamwork, and focus that they showed in Friday’s game, they will remain a serious contender in their league. Make sure to keep cheering them on!
