In 2006, The Devil Wears Prada hit the theaters with high watch rates and excitement from fans of the former sequel. And now in 2026 they’ve made a comeback with a second one. On Friday May 1st the second Devil Wears Prada came out in theaters, and excited fans of the first movie went excitedly to see the second movie.
The main cast of the movie is Ann Hathaway playing Andrea, Meryl Streep as Miranda Priesley, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. Many of the cast came back for the second movie, mainly the iconic Ann Hathaway that made the film as famous as it is now. Although the second movie has gained some criticism from fans of the first. Some complained the fashion is now what they expected, and that they didn’t like the plot or some aspects of the new movie as much as they loved the first. Freshman Chloe Trousdale had her own opinions on the first movie stating, “I really loved the first movie, and how the plot of the film was set out. I was really rooting for Andie the main character and I love how she gained confidence. I don’t think the second movie was as good as the first movie, just because it’s the original. But I do love the vibe and how we saw some of the same characters from the last movie have their own moment.” Though it’s hard to beat any original with a second movie. The sequel movie brought back those same aspects of the first, making a major breakthrough in 2026 without having gone back to it for 20 full years. The same Iconic characters came back having the same place in fans’ hearts as they first watched the iconic film “The Devil Wears Prada.”
