This is the sound of Palisades’ students sending their luck to Palisades’ and Grand Junctions’ High School swim team who are off to compete at the State Competition. The team had their sendoff this Thursday, February 6th with Palisade students being lined up through our main hallway, Dog Run. Palisade swimmer Kennedy Koster states, “I’m pretty excited. Our team ranked pretty well..” Something to know about Koster is that she’s been swimming since she was eight years old and this is her first year in high school swimming. The swim team has been preparing and training hard for them to have a higher chance at winning State. Koster explains, “I think we’re pretty prepared, we’ve been putting in a lot of time and effort into going to practices and really getting better throughout the season.” Sports are something that require diligence and strength, and students at Palisade High School show more than that while doing something that they enjoy doing. Koster states, “I’ve really enjoyed this sport from a really young age and I put all my time and effort into it and I’ve just spent a lot of time around the sport and I really love it and it makes me who I am.” Congratulating or offering good luck is something that Palisade High School does to support its athletes and hopes to give them strength and kindness in the journey to success. We send our luck to the Palisade swimming team on their way to State!
