10 minutes with Admin: The Athletic Hectics

With school coming to an end, Palisade High School’s Athletic Director, Greg Hawkins, is running wild! Mr. Hawkins has been the athletic director since 2014, with this year being his 12th year as a Bulldog. With the end of the year coming soon, Mr. Hawkins shares, “The end of the year for me looks like making new schedules for next year, and even the year after that. This requires meeting with different school and athletic directors throughout the valley. I am getting ready for this year’s playoffs and planning all of those trips that I will be going to.” Palisade High School has such a supportive staff that even our administration makes time for its students. Mr. Hawkins continues, “I’m going to Girls State Golf, State Track, and State Baseball all in the next couple of weeks, so that’s exciting.” Our 2026 seniors just had their graduation on Monday, May 11th, and with that, there is a lot for the office and admin. “I don’t do much planning-wise, but at graduation I present all of the students who are going into the military, as I am a veteran.” Mr. Hawkins does get a lot of time off during the summer and has a lot of free time, unlike the school’s secretary, Mrs. Pinnt. “I come into the school on and off. I’ll do a lot of stuff over the phone, like calling different coaches, and as far as work goes, I can do most of it at home on my laptop.” Mr. Hawkins is so appreciative of our school, especially within our athletics, and without him, we wouldn’t know the time of our next game.
