With the 2025-2026 school year coming to an end, the Senior Sunset was just upon us. If you remember back to the start of the school year on August 11th at Canyon Veiw Park Palisade’s Student Council held an event called Senior Sunrise, where seniors woke up early in the morning to watch the sunrise as a whole grade, to almost welcome the new school year to come, whereas now on may 4th at Canyon Veiw Park, Senior Sunset was held for seniors to come together at the end of their last year of high school to watch a sunset, almost as if to say goodbye to their last year in high school. Ms. Kemper, the StuCo teacher, was asked what she thought about throwing Senior Sunset. She stated, “It’s almost symbolic in a way because we have a Senior Sunrise on the 1st Monday of the school year and Senior Sunset on the last Monday of the school year, so it is like your first day together and your last as a senior. And it was fun. We had different snacks and a bunch of different outdoor games, and it was just a bunch of kids getting to play, which was really cool to see cause they all just got to come and hang out and just have fun and play like little kids for a bit.”
Jennifer Cervants is a senior who went to the Senior Sunset. When asked about what she thought about the event, she stated, “ I think it was truly a great bonding experience, and then just seeing different groups of people and their friendships and how they’ve evolved through high school, and I think it was just great to see our class together all at once.”
Congratulations to the 2026 senior class for working so hard throughout their last 12 years of education. We hope that this Senior Sunset was one to remember. We hope all of you go far in your next steps in life.
