Hunter Wagner and Stewart Nowak posing before the JV tournament

The Palisade boys golf team ended their season for both JV and Varsity in the past week. The JV team competed against 17 other schools in the annual JV championship hosted by our very own Palisade team. For some players, it was their first 18-hole tournament, and for others, it was the last tournament they played in high school. The tournament was separated into   upperclassmen, sophomores, and freshmen flights. In the upperclassmen flight Palisades Hunter Wagner placed 1st with a score of 63. In the sophomore flight, another one of Palisades boys Taylor Cowedrey placed first with a score of 73. Unfortunately in the freshman class Palisade did not have any boys who placed. The freshman class who worked hard this season placed 11th as a class.

After helping with the end of our JV season the varsity boy’s hearts started to race as they prepared for regionals. The top four varsity players got to continue their season to fight at a chance of going to state. Last year we had two boys Blake Hooker and Alex Morall qualify. When they went to regionals this year what was expected to happen never became a reality. Alex Morrall took second alternate after playing a great round scoring in the 70s. and the other three boys Blake Hooker, Joe Morgan, and Ian Allen did not place low enough to qualify. When asked what he was going to miss most about high school golf Blake Hooker replied “I am going to miss the team and the coaches. Mrs. Korte had her first year coaching and we’re gonna miss her and Coach Norell.” Congratulations to all the boys golfers on an incredible season.
