Through rough games and hard work the Palisade girls Varsity and JV soccer team has finally struck back and taken a win from Coal Ridge for Palisade High School. The Varsity team won 1-4 and the JV team killed the competition with 1-5, more goals than the girls have gotten all season in just one game. With having such a small and composed of mainly freshman, it has been a challenge for these strong student athletes to push through and get the wins they have needed for this spring season.
With fast improvement, these girls are on an uprising pace to more winning games as the season continues onward. Freshman Joey Donaldson and Carlie Rhoden both on Varsity scoring many strong points for the Bulldogs. The team looks strong for the upcoming future of soccer goals with talented freshmen already scoring goals on varsity. As the soccer Bulldogs get further into their season, it seems like this slow start could be coming to a near end as the girls continue to improve and get better throughout the season.
With this big win against Coal ridge, the whole Palisade community is hoping to continue to see these girls improve even more as individuals and a team. Freshman Joey Donaldson on varsity states, “We played really well cause it was our first win and we definitely worked better as a team this game then the games in the beginning of the season.” On the team’s improvement she states. “It was nice to see the team building together since the beginning of the year and how much we improved.” With plenty matches left, the Bulldogs girl soccer team is predicted to improve and conquer more accomplishments as the season progresses.
