As the Spring season comes to a full bloom, the Palisade and Central combined tennis team known as the Central Wardogs have been asserting their dominance on the court and using each match as a lesson for growth. The team has seen a wave of new faces this year therefore, the team has set their focus on the dynamics and development of the team’s performance apart from just the outcome of the score.
This season has also come with new changes as well as a new coaching staff, which has made a significant impact on the team this season. Central High School teacher and coach, Jordyn Morrow has taken the role of head coach position this year after being an assistant coach for last year’s head coach Katie Aust. Morrow was head coach for the Central Boys tennis team for the 2025 season, giving her more experience of taking on the role as head coach for the girls tennis team this year. When speaking to a player about the the dynamics of the team and how it has impacted her, first year player Elly Wieberg comments on the supportive culture that the team has built this year saying, “I feel like the culture is pretty positive, there is a lot of support from teammates like whenever someone is feeling down or upset about a match there is always someone there to lift you up.” It is no easy task to take over a tennis team as a new coach, but with the help and support from the team, Morrow is strengthening the dynamics and culture of the team. Make sure to come to the next match on Thursday, April 2nd at 3:00 at Canyon View tennis court to support our tennis team. Go Bulldogs!
