On Wednesday, March 18th, season 4 of Invincible hits Prime Video. Invincible is an animated show based on a comic book series. It follows Mark Grayson, who is half Viltrumite and half human. The show starts out as a normal super hero coming of age story until it is revealed his father is sent to take over Earth for the Viltrumite empire. The show has a huge cast that consists of Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Gillion Jacobs, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen and more.
Jacoby Janssen, a sophomore at Palisade Highschool, and a massive fan of the comics and the show for many years states, “I watch a lot of TV and read a lot of comics, and when I say Invincible is a very good show, I mean it. It’s one of the most detailed representations of a comic book we’ve had yet. It’s amazing!” When Janssen was asked what he’s excited to see, he says, “Thragg and Battle Beast just brawl out.” Some controversy is going around about a new episode that’s coming out that was not in the comics. When Janssen was told about this he responded, “I’ve seen this happen before with other things, but it takes a lot to make it good.” To make the episode work Janssen thinks they’re going to need to tie things back to the original comics. The fandom is experiencing more controversy about the animation. Janssen sees both sides of the arguments and says, “The animation in the fight scenes is so good, but the one thing I don’t like about it is the animation when they’re not fighting. It doesn’t really bother me that much.”
Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible, said in an interview in 2024 he is expecting 7-8 seasons. When Jassen heard the news he was shocked, saying “4 More seasons? It all depends on how they pace it.” Make sure to check out Invincible as it gains a new episode every Wednesday.
