NASA Space Center has had multiple launches throughout the years. The next major launch from the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida is the Artemis 2 mission, scheduled to launch no earlier than April 1, 2026, depending on the weather. According to NASA.gov, this crew’s mission is to orbit the Moon with the rocket currently positioned at Pad 39B.
The Crew consisted of four astronauts: Commander Reid Wiseman (NASA), Pilot Victor Glover (NASA), Mission Specialist Christina Koch (NASA), and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen (Canadian Space Agency). Reid Wiseman is a U.S. Navy aviator and test pilot leading the mission. Victor Glover is a U.S. Navy captain, test pilot, and the first African American astronaut assigned to a lunar mission. Christina Koch is an engineer and holder of the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, now set to be the first woman on a lunar mission. Jeremy Hansen is a Canadian Space Agency astronaut, former fighter pilot, and the first Canadian to venture to the moon. The four astronauts entered quarantine in March 2026 to prepare for the 10-day mission, which will be the first crewed flight of the Orion spacecraft beyond low Earth orbit.
I got a chance to visit the NASA Kennedy Space Center, and it is exceptional. It is the #1-ranked attraction in America. The rocket garden consists of nine different rockets that have all completed missions to space, one of them even being the first to make it to the moon. They have so many fun interactions for kids and families, and they make learning so fun and creative.
Space is a place that is worth exploring and learning about. There is so much more beyond our planet, and NASA is doing a great job at providing such great ways for people to learn about it.
