We all know that toys and fidgets have always been a thing and a trend, especially through 2016 and 2020 so why are they just now coming back? Last month a new trend of these fidgets have arrived and now everyone is trying to get their hands on the now infamous Needoh brand of stress toys.
First erupting from social media these small but popular fidgets have dominated people for you pages on social media platforms like Tiktok, Instagram, and Youtube. And now that they have so much attention drawn to them from the sudden erupted popularity of the stress toy everyone seems to want them. A student from Palisade High School freshman Ryan Napoleon who has bought a few of the toys herself from the popular brand NeeDoh stated on the trend when asked her to express her thoughts stated, “I think it’s a really fun trend, cause they’re really fun to play with. Out of all the trends that have come up this year, by far this is the best one.” Napoleon’s opinion, similar to many, is that NeeDohs have become a fun toy for many PHS students to have in class and as a stress relief toy. And suddenly these squishies that have always been around have come up and made an influence on young people. Now when you go and try to find one for yourselves in stores like Walmart, Five Below, or others you’ll find a majority of the now popular squishies gone. So what has really caused another rise in these toys. In 2016 and 2020 it was slime, as well as foam squishies that always seemed to show up every time you pulled up Youtube or Tik Tok on your phone you’d find a video of them and now the same thing is happening today in the big 2026 and influencers have caused the biggest impact out of them all.
They have not only spread on social media but to Palisade High School. Ever since these small yet popular fidgets in different designs have come out you’ll find them everywhere. From looking around in class to see someone playing with one, to getting one yourself and your friends asking where you got it this trend has affected much of Palisade High School, but hasn’t every trend affected the young student body of PHS in some sort of way?
