The Performing Arts Student of the Week is very important to Palisade High School. Performing Arts Student of the Week is a blend of creative arts and talented students who teachers feel as though they really deserve recognition for their talent. This week’s Performing Arts student is sophomore Alondra Medrano. Medrano was nominated for the orchestra. Medrano has been in orchestra for five years and wishes to continue with orchestra throughout her high school career.
Madrano was asked about how she felt about being given the opportunity to be Perforing Arts Student of the Week she siad, “I feel very honored and happy because ive only been in orchestra for so little time compared to some of these other kids so its still pretty new to me and its kind of like this sense of knowing my hard work is paying off and im being reconginized for it so I’m just really proud of that.”
If you were to ask Madrano what her favorite part of being in the orchestra is, she would say, “It is deffinity just being able to have the ability to control my own learning because it heelps me stay focused more and sort of learn way easier, and the variety of students in orchestra like seeing some people that are way better than me and its like I strive to be like that and its also fun to see how i progress throughout the year or years.” When most people join a performing arts, they tend to benefit in more ways than one. Madrano was asked how she feels she benefits from being in the orchestra, and Madrano responded with “ Orchestra definitely allows me to learn new things about different instruments, and meeting new people, and connecting with those such people from different backgrounds, I feel it also helps me with learning because its hard for me and most people to memorize notes and fingerings, so its helped me focus in on basically how to memorize and learn new things.” It’s pretty clear that Madrano loves the orchestra. Congratulations on earning the Performing Arts Student of the Week, Alondra Medrano.
