It’s a fresh start for the 4A/5A Southwestern League Palisade High School Girls Soccer. The 2024-2025 season’s record ended in a 6-7-3. After the loss of multiple seniors last season, our Palisade Bulldogs are working on picking themselves back up to have an amazing 2026 season.
Two sisters, Claire Fricke, a freshman and newcomer on the Palisade Girls Soccer team, and Kate Fricke, a senior and returner on the Palisade Girls Soccer team, have different perspectives and hopes on what’s to come for the team this season. Claire and Kate speak on the main goals of this season and how they plan on achieving them, as Claire states, “I think the main goals for this season are to compete, try our best, and work hard. I feel like in every practice our coach gives us a competitive environment and tries to set us up for success.” Claire, being new to the team, has goals of working hard and trying her best at all practices and games. In contrast, Kate has higher standards for the team this year and really hopes they can improve after losing a lot of their seniors, stating, “The main goals for our team this season are to make it in the top three of our league, and possibly make it to playoffs. This year is also a rebuilding year after losing a lot of our seniors, so overall, we’re just getting the program back in shape and still holding it to the high standard that it has been the last couple of years.” Kate, speaking about the team’s goals and slight issues they have had this season, still has high hopes for this team. Both Fricke sisters speak on the need to push themselves and work hard to achieve the goals they are hoping to reach this season. Good luck to our Girls Soccer team for their first game on Thursday, the 5th. Let’s have an amazing season, Bulldogs!
