Palisade High School has had an incredible basketball season this year, with our girls and boys basketball team being ranked 3rd in the 6A and 5A Southwestern league. As girls Basketball is coming to an end, Girls had their last game against the Wildcats ultimately determining if they made it to playoffs, so the game was a large competition, and many bulldogs showed up to represent. Jack Morby, a freshman at Palisade High School attended the game, and went on to say, “The girls were doing great to start, I like seeing Coach Bavor coach because he’s in the game every second and never gives up on his team.” When Morby was asked what his favorite part of the game was Morby responded, “My favorite part of the girls game was watching them strive towards their goal to beat a huge school, even though they fell short. I believe they won because of how hard they worked.” Morby stated that he enjoys supporting our sports team, as you can often see Morby at games. “I go and support because I appreciate our sports program for doing the best they can for not only us, but for others.” Although Fruita might have won this game, this doesn’t stop Abi Ellison, a freshman attending Palisade from working hard in basketball, and aiming to achieve the best. Ellison was asked about her relationship with her team, and how the season went. Ellison stated, “I have created a really great bond with my teammates. We hang out all the time and I think we have an amazing team with great girls. I thought this season would be rough, but we have all been putting in so much work and it’s been a really good season.” Ellison states that they have a play off game soon, but has nothing to worry about. “We have a play off game coming up, but I am really confident because we have been preparing really well for it.” Overall, Ellison has had a strong season, with just a couple more games to finish off the season, for being a freshman on the Varsity team. Good luck girls, you’re going to do great! Go Dawgs!
