Last week on Tuesday, February 10,2026 the Palisade Bulldogs played the Delta Panthers in an exciting match up. Final score 74 Palisades 63 Delta bringing Palisades record to 19-2 making them 11th in Colorado. This game started hot with Junior Rye Gingerich scoring 12 points in the first quarter of the game. Gingerich stated “I knew that we were going to come out on top, because Delta’s not that good, I just was making sure that they didn’t win”. This is showing the confidence of Gingerich and the Palisade High School team.
Gingerich is a starter for our PHS Basketball Team. Other starters consist of Todd Nordenson, Carter Hayward, Hunter Howard, and Aidan Shiao. Scoring a total of 74 points with a pretty large lead after the second half making the rest of the game with little to no space for a comeback for Delta with a score of 74. This helped with the confidence of the team allowing them to play better. Film and discussing plays helped the team have a good understanding of the other teams approach to the game.
All though they are no longer number one in the state they are still an incredible team who continue to grow and win games. They are third in the Southwestern 6A/5A beating everyone but Grand Junction High School. This makes the team have some rivalry towards the Tigers and this is shown in the veracity of the matches between the schools.
This season is slowly coming to an end and what a season it has been with some amazing accomplishments. For example Hunter Howard’s career high of 1,000 points. And Palisade’s amazing record with 19 wins and 2 losses. With only two more games lets hope they can keep it up.
