The Performing Arts Student of the Week is very important to Palisade High School. Performing Arts Student of the Week is a blend of creative arts and talented students who teachers feel as though they really deserve recognition for their talent. This week’s Performing Arts Student of the Week is senior Breawyn Brown.
The Performing Arts, Brown was chosen for is choir. Brown has been in choir for three years now and has hopes to continue her passion for choir in some way in her future, but that is not the only performing art she is in Brown is also involved in speech and debate, jazz band, and theater. When asked about how Brown felt about earning the Performing Arts Student of the week, Brown said, “ I feel very honnored especially as a senior right now doing all these Performing Arts, it is as if I’m always too busy with them to do other stuff but there such cool stuff to me I dont want to drop them so to be able to be represented in this way for a bit of time it’s just I’m really honored.” Brown was recently in Palisades High School’s production of Mamma Mia. Brown played Tanya, one of the confident side characters.
Brown was asked what her favorite part of choir was, and she said, “ My favorite part of choir is the community because it is like there are all these different groups of people who are all so different and we are all able to bond and grow into a small family and there is just no shame or cringe culture within it and it’s just amazing.”
If you are on the edge of joining a performing arts, here is what Brown has to say: “ I think you should try it out because maybe it won’t be a thing, but it is worth the risk. I know a lot of people who never would have joined a performing arts, but they joined for a year and went. I don’t know why I haven’t done this earlier, so just do it.” But overall, congratulations to Breawyn Brown for earning Performing Arts Student of the Week!
