Palisade High School’s wrestling team celebrated Senior Night, Thursday with a strong team victory on their home mat against the Grand Valley Cardinals. The Bulldogs honored their seniors after the dulls giving them recognition and spotlight for their dedication and years of hard work for Palisade. Although it came with some challenges, multiple duels throughout the night had to forfeit ultimately letting Palisade come out on top keeping them undefeated on the year. Teegan Young, a Senior wrestler at Palisade states “the season has not just gone great for me but for my whole team being undefeated is a big accomplishment.” also adding “but the only thing we need to work on is our conditioning before state but other than that we are ready.” Michal Cemmis, another Senior wrestler for Palisade added “we did great Thursday night. The only thing was the lighter weights but they have so much time to grow and they are doing it fast.” Throughout the night the wrestlers looked prepared and ready not expecting the unusual amount of forfeits throughout the night. In the matches that did take place, Palisade wrestled confidently and aggressively. Wrestlers controlled the pace, executed clean takedowns, and stayed very strong throughout the night on the mat. By the end of the night Palisade had defeated the Cardinals ending Senior night strong and memorable.
