On Tuesday night the Palisade High School Girls Basketball team stormed our home court for senior night. The girls didn’t come to play, they came to win. As the girls set up to face the Grand Junction Tigers they knew this would be an important game to win. Coming out of an on the road loss from last week Palisade was determined to find their old self being dog tough and relentless on defence. As the girls suited up, emotions filled the room. The seniors released that this was the night that they got recognized for all four years of hard work. All of the rest of the Varsity team realizes that soon will be the end of playing with their favorite 2026 Seniors. Our Graduating seniors are Sadie Bunker, Lyla Lancaster, and Lila Huddle. Lancaster states the overall atmosphere of the game,“I think the atmosphere was great during the game. It was awesome to have senior night on a rivalry game against Junction because the gym was packed!” Lancaster later states her feeling throughout the night, “My feelings during the game were mainly just so grateful to have played all four years and getting to meet so many wonderful people through basketball. It was a very important game to win since that impacted our standing.” The Palisade girls will continue to push hard throughout the rest of the session and throughout playoffs.
