This week’s Performing Student of the Week is Logan Waggoner, an orchestra student who plays the violin. He began his orchestra career his freshman year with the viola but then progressed to playing the violin. He has been deemed a passionate student about orchestra and also his school work being in the IB program. He also writes and plays his own music with a group of friends and plays the acoustic and the base guitar. Waggoner has performed at many big crowds with his violin and posts many videos of him playing his Instruments on his instagram. Waggoner also plays the harmonica and has a wide range and knowledge of music for himself. Waggoner is also a part of the rocket club which happens every Monday and he is a part of the Speech and Debate club. Many grand things that will follow Waggoner around as he progresses through his life.
While talking to Waggoner about his perspective of orchestra he informs me, “I had originally just joined orchestra so I would only have to do a semester of PE,” But then he followed that by saying, “The main thing for me is that I’m passionate about music in general. I think that music is the language of the soul and I think that when you play music, it helps you get a deeper emotional understanding. When I am up on stage playing, it’s hard to get that feeling anywhere else.” Waggoner has a perspective of music that is very hard to find and will brighten his future with the creativity of his mind when it comes to things that he is passionate about.
Waggoner has many open opportunities in his future and it was an honor to speak to a student so passionate about his music career.
