The teachers in our Bulldog community deserve to be highlighted and recognized for the work that they do. Palisade High School’s PACK program has nominated Ms. Martinez as January’s Teacher of the Month. A passionate educator, Ms. Martinez has demonstrated the love of teaching and dedication to her profession to receive this award.
Ms. Martinez has been a part of the Bulldog family for twelve years. Multiple different Composition/Literature classes have been taught by her, as well as the Lead and Yearbook programs. “I have never known anything in my profession than being a Bulldog, but I am so proud of it. I’m proud of the community and the culture and the family we have at Palisade,” shares Ms. Martinez. “I’ve had a lot of really great people to learn from. We have a lot of really incredible educators in our building that really care about kids.”
Ms. Martinez strongly exemplifies the qualities it takes to be a good educator, and demonstrates deep care to the students of Palisade High School. She reflects, “I got into education because of a different teachers that I had in high school… I learned early on in my life that I really loved working with kids, specifically high school students.” Having passion for education makes the classroom environment more lively, encouraging, and engaging for the students.
“I think that I would just tell anybody that wants to come in this profession that they have to lead with their heart… you have to love kids first, and the content or perhaps the curriculum second.” quotes Ms. Martinez. Any aspiring educators should look to Ms. Martinez as an example of what it takes to be a positive force on student’s lives.
If you see Ms. Martinez in the hallways, be sure to congratulate her on receiving this award! As always, go Bulldogs, and be sure to thank the teachers, administrators, and staff members who are making a difference on your time here at Palisade High School.
