January 27th our Palisade Girls Basketball team played against the Glenwood Springs Devils Girls Basketball team. Our Bulldogs took the win with a score of 45-37.
Junior Mady Bavor, one of our Varsity starters, has things to say about her and her team’s overall performance. “I think I did well with my free throws but also getting down to the hole. I felt like I put a lot of work ethic in for my team.” The game showed many strengths but Bavor pointed out that there were some weaknesses. “I think we could’ve worked on our ball handling and passing so there were flaws but I wish our teamwork was good like our past games instead of stepping down to Glenwood’s level.” This victory serves as a powerful motivator reinforcing the team’s belief in their capabilities and their strong playing style.
Bavor’s perspective offers valuable insight into the team’s process. Her ability to perform well in stressful moments like sinking free throws, and her dedication to giving her all for the team shows dedication. It’s this kind of commitment from Bulldog players that overall show off the whole team’s performance.
The way Bavor talked about the team knowing they need to get better at ball handling and passing honestly shows a lot of maturity. Admitting what you need to work on is huge, and it’s clear they really want to get back to the level of teamwork they had in past seasons. That kind of mindset plus their recent win makes it feel like the Palisade Bulldogs are heading in a really positive direction. If they keep pushing themselves and building on what they’ve already done, they could definitely compete at an even higher level as the season goes on.
