On Tuesday, January 20th, the Palisade Girls’ Basketball team played against the Central Warriors on our home court. They brought their game and took home another win, adding to their 10 total wins.
The girls worked hard that week, having fun and feeling hopeful. The girls racked up points with the final score being 73-35. With that, the Lady Bulldogs have now won six games by 21 points or more this season. Junior Mady Bavor and Senior Sadie Bunker really shined out there. Bavor scored 21 points with five rebounds. Bunker racked up 18 points and eight steals. Bunker now has a new personal record for her basketball career. Palisade finished the game with 17 assists, which is the most they have had this season. Sophomore Imari Bosshart shares her input on the game “Overall, the game went great. We understood the game plan, we competed, and we all had fun! Going into the game, I felt excited and confident. I didn’t feel worried about anything because I knew the team had a job that they all understood, and I knew that we were gonna play very well together if that happened.” After the game, Freshman Abigal Ellison and Senior Lyla Lancaster said, “Bavor was pretty energetic and tense, but I think that’s because he had high expectations for all of us and knows we have that level of competition in us.” In practice, the day before the game, I got a chance to talk to coach Bavor, and he said, “Oh man, I am so excited! I know how much these girls have worked, and they are so excited to go out there and have fun. Central has had a good run, but I know these girls will bring it home.”
Overall, the girls played hard and had an outstanding game!
