Last week, Palisade High School’s sophomores were granted the opportunity to take a field trip to the Career Center for a couple hours to explore potential job opportunities for students in their near future. The Career Center field trip not only showcased the different programs at CMU tech, but also highlighted the importance of career readiness. Students had the opportunity to engage with instructors, and current professionals, gaining firsthand knowledge about the skills and education needed for success in their field. In a recent interview with sophomore, Isaiah Ricks, who went on the field trip stated what he did, what it was about, and if he would recommend it to someone. “We toured different programs at CMU tech. The field trip was for upcoming juniors to learn about different opportunities that can help you discover your future pathway. I would recommend it to someone because it helped me explore potential career paths.” These programs designed to prepare students for the demands of various careers, offered a glimpse into what it would be like in engineering, technology, culinary, hospitality, event management, and construction. Upcoming juniors now have a chance to learn about opportunities that could shape their future pathways. With the Career Center being conveniently located in Grand Junction and the program being held at PHS, this allows students to have easy career exploration, as a valuable resource. Dawgs, don’t forget that Mrs. Green, PHS’s Future Pathway program coordinator, is actively working to find every student a future they look forward to, so don’t feel ashamed to go talk to Mrs. Green and find a future suit for you. Lets be like Ricks, and find our pathways together, GO DAWGS!!

Trinity Palmer, STAFF WRITER
Hi, my name is Trinity Palmer, and I am a current Freshman here at Palisade High School in the DP program. I am a current staff writer for the Paw Post, and can’t wait! My love for cameras and writing began in 7th grade when I got involved with Yearbook at Mount Garfield Middle School. Outside of School I love boating, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, and traveling. I am looking forward to being a part of the team this year!
