The Student of the Week this week is Michael Kemmis. Kemmis is a senior at Palisade High School with dreams of going to CMU tech to pursue HVAC. As well as him being a multi-sport athlete who plays football and wrestles. Who is also going to be trying out for lacrosse his senior year. This would make him a three sport athlete for his senior year which is an impressive accomplishment for any high school student. But this doesn’t get in the way of his academic goals either because he still pushes and strives to be an amazing student everyday that he can.
When Kemmis was asked , “How does receiving student of the week make you feel” Kemmis replied “I’m honored, I’m glad that it’s me, I’ve worked for the past four years and I’m happy” This shows the time and effort that he put in to achieving Student of the Week. Kemmis is a hardworking student that did a lot to get this award whether it was the work he put in on school work or the work he put in for sports. Kemmis tells me in the interview that he enjoys any subject that has to do with history saying “My favorite subject is History. I like to know what happened way back in the past.”. As well as the fact that he enjoys school and spending time learning and enjoying time with friends.
Kemmis is grateful for the Student of the Week title and he is thankful for coach Mohr as well as coach Ramunno to coaches that help him not only athletically but also in his education.
These coaches help students in so many ways and it shows how grateful the students are. Thank you for reading this addition of the Student of the Week. This week it’s Kemmis and next week it could be you.
