Palisade High School is known for offering many sports to students, such as swimming, football, baseball, track, and much more, but this season District Phoenix Girls Wrestling has stood out. Mary Warren, a freshman here at Palisade High School, actively involved in marching band, and wrestling for PHS spoke in a recent interview, about why she continues with wrestling, what she thinks of the team, and how the girls are doing this season. Warren stated, “The practices are hard and push my limits so I can be the best wrestler possible, which I enjoy.” Warren then went onto say “I wrestle for the District Phoenix Girls Wrestling, and I really enjoy my team. This season we have been doing pretty good.” Warren’s dedication is evident in her commitment to the team, and her constant routine of making every practice. In addition to Warren speaking out, team manager Alora Aldrige a freshman at PHS, shared her perspective of the season, when she became a manager, what she thinks of the team, and her favorite part of being a wrestling manager. Aldrige explains, “I became a wrestling manager this year, and I love my team. This season is going very well, we have a lot of good wrestlers on our team. My favorite part of being with the wrestlers is that we do it for the community, and I get involved in doing it with the school, and being known.” With the spirit and dedication of athletes like Warren, and the support of managers such as Aldrige, and the guidance of their coaches, and their unwavering commitment to the community, the District Phoenix Girls wrestling team is ready to make this a successful, and memorable season, so let’s go Bulldogs!
