Season Two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is officially on Disney, and is making a wave through the fans of the first season of Percy Jackson that came out December 19th, 2023. With an episode coming out every Wednesday, the first episode came out on December 10th, 2025, named “I Play Dodgeball with Cannibals”, All episodes are based on the chapters in the second book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Fans across Palisade High School and the globe have expressed many of their own opinions on the new season and how it will go on from here, enthusiastic for the show’s outcome in following years.
Many fans, especially ones who had been fans of the book series, had positive and few negative opinions on the show. Compared to the Percy Jackson Movie that came out in 2010, the show had proved to be more book accurate in characters’ ages, the scenes, episodes, and overall input of the show being more accurate to the infamous books. A freshman from Palisade High School that watched the first season and read the books as well, Mimi Yoseph states, “I think it was really well correlated with the books, because I know a lot of people hate the movies, because of the way it’s organized and not well lined up. But the show definitely did.” Yoseph mentioned about the show and how the movie plays out in comparison to each other and the books. The show’s accuracy to the books made fans enthusiastic about the idea of even more seasons coming to be released in the near future. Now that Season Two of the show is out, many of the fandoms fans have had popular opinions that Season Two has turned out maybe even better than Season One. The same main characters being Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Jeffreys as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, and Daniel Diemer coming in this season to play Percy’s brother, Tyson. When asking Yoseph about what she thought of the casting for these seasons, she comments, “Oh my gosh, I love the casting so much. The cast really just embraces their characters, and they’re just amazing.” A big multitude of fans had conflicted opinions on the cast when the first season came out, unsure on how the casting looks compared to the characters, especially in Season Two the actors have proven that resemblance doesn’t matter as much as character does in the total outcome of the story.
This season follows a different plotline from the first season of the four characters as well as others in the story like Luke who is being played by Charlie Bushnell and Clarisse played by Dior Goodjohn Work, side by side on a quest and against Kronos’s crew including Luke, to save Camp Halfblood and retrieve the golden fleece to do so.
With Season Three already in the making, the season two finale will soon wrap up with the next episode coming up on January 21st. Fans of the books are awaiting an outcome they know from the books to see how it will play out, and other fans are awaiting the start of another season and adventure between the beloved characters and the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
