This past weekend the Palisade Girls Basketball team had their first game in CarbonDale Colorado. They played hard all three days they were up there playing. When asking freshmen Carlie Rhoden about the game, she states, “We won the first and second game, and then lost the third game. The first game was 74-19 and the second game was 48-22. The third game was 42-67.” With what Rhoden has said, her and her teammates worked so hard in their games, but unfortunately when time passed they got more and more tired. Rhoden has also added how she felt the first, second and third games they played. Rhoden stated, “I felt nervous because I’m a freshman on varsity. The second game my nerves were gone, my team and I were balling up. The last game my nerves came back because I was tipping off and I’m not that tall.” Despite all those nerves coming and leaving, they all did amazing and worked really hard.
Another Freshmen varsity player had added on to what Rhoden had said. Freshman Maddison Ellison said, “I felt pretty good about the game because we weren’t playing really great teams, honestly, the first game was a little iffy. After the first play of the first game though, I felt good, and that we’re going to be good.” She was nervous to play the teams, but after seeing how they play, her nerves went away. Ellison had also stated, “How I felt after the games, honestly, depended on how I played. We as a whole team have played well so far, but, if I didn’t have such a good game, then I would be really upset. If I drop a lot of points and I’m confident then I feel really happy about it.” With Ellison adding this, it gives more insight with players on the team, how they really feel as individuals. Thankfully though, she saw how her whole team played and not just herself and was confident in her team and had a good attitude. Go Bulldogs!
