With winter sports starting up full swing, comes the winter Pep rally. The rally took place Tuesday, during what usually is the third and fourth period, where our winter assembly recognized our winter sports and competed in class competitions. This assembly though had a much more meaningful message this year. Yes, Bulldogs competed in class games and cheered on our winter teams for their season ahead, but we also showed our support to Bulldogs who are facing hard times. We held a 19 seconds of silence to a fellow Bulldog Wesley Reimer who was in a terrible car accident two weeks ago, and the boys soccer team held up signs to show support to their manager Christopher Perez who is currently recovering from a major spinal surgery. Senior Jack Sechrist said, “The assembly was really nice and the tributes to the students were really heartwarming.” Sechrist also mentioned, “It’s good we have these pep rallies to show our support to our sports and raise awareness to students about what’s going on with our school.” Senior Connor Kagerer commented, “The assembly was really cool and felt the support of the students represented the type of community we are and I like showing our support to the winter sports.” Bulldogs here at Palisade are more than just education and sports, students here are a community that promotes and motivates each other to be better versions of themselves.
