Here at Palisade many students have semester finals coming up and some that they have already taken. These last few weeks are very stressful for some students as it is their last chance to try and make it to the next letter grade in order to help their GPA. Whether Bulldogs are in standard-level classes, extracurriculars, or advanced classes, such as AP, Honors, or CMU, they are participating in tests that account for a large portion of their final grades.
Addison Pinnt, a junior here at Palisade, is taking four CMU concurrent classes. “I’m taking General Sociology, Math 151, which is calculus, English 111, and History 132,” she states. While all of these classes are rigorous, she stated that, “My math final stressed me out more than the others, it’s 25% of our grade.” However, she also stated that most of her teachers helped her to prepare for her finals through giving her a final review packet.
Also, Darcy Imer, a sophomore Bulldog, stated, “Most of my finals have been miniature quizzes or combinations of things in classes.” Despite this, she also states that she is particularly stressed for two finals more than others. “I’m a little stressed for my assignment leading up to my Spanish final. We got it assigned yesterday and it’s due tomorrow,” she states. Imer also stated that her most rigorous final, for her math class, has also been stressful, “You have to remember everything from the quarter. It’s a lot of work to try and remember everything.” Imer says that it would have been nice for her teachers to better prepare for the final in terms of knowing what the final is farther back before the actual final.
Carnez Ringold, a sophomore here at Palisade, states that he hasn’t had any finals yet, but his math final in particular is stressing him out more than others. “I would say math and computer science,” Ringold stated when asked what his most rigorous finals are. Ringold states, “I wish teachers would give a specific due date for any assignments that you need to get done.”
These last few weeks before winter break are putting a lot on students, but many teachers are trying their hardest to help ease their minds through sources such as review packets to help prepare all students. Good luck Bulldogs, and remember to try your best on every assignment and test!
