As of December 5th Netflix officially announced they are trying to buy most of Warner Bro. biggest creations such as The Flintstones, Teen Titans, and their biggest one Loony Toons, until Paramount put a temporary stop to it putting in a deal with them as well to buy their creations.
There has been a lot of back and forth on what will happen and who will win the battle for the Warner Bros. movies and shows. According to The Economist News, Netflix was going to pay Warner Bros. 83 billion dollars but, after Paramount heard what they were trying to do they stepped in really quickly with a counter offer of 108 billion dollars saying they can make a deal better than Netflix can make. A lot of people have opinions about who they think should win the deal like senior Kaedyn Nielsen who states, “I hope Netflix gets them because Nickelodeon is pretty much dying and I can just Netflix having them.” The news is all over social media and is getting a lot of attention from people like Tik Toker baldnews_ who has been making videos about the topic since it was announced.
A big detail that is not all over just yet is the fact that Trump is close with the Allison family who owns Paramount and is the reason why they put so much money for the bid. Paramount hasn’t said why specifically they want to buy Warner Bros. other than money however, according to Tik Toker vetzreacts the main reason Netflix wants to buy Warner Bros. is because they have rights to a lot of movies and big things like DC comics, Harry Potter, HBO max, Cartoon Network, and Game Of Thrones. The information of the battle just started blowing up and getting leaked but Warner Bros. has been taking bids since.There are some who don’t think Paramount buying Warner Bros. is a good idea at all like Nielsen states, “If Paramount takes control of it then we will get a lot of sequels and I don’t really want the government to help write the movies and shows I watch.”
