Senior Luke Wibbelsman has been nominated as Performing Arts Student of the Week in recognition of his remarkable dedication and creativity as a young artist. Throughout the semester Luke has demonstrated discipline and enthusiasm in his choir rehearsals and concerts and has shown why he deserves this award. After being nominated Wibblesman said, “I’m a little surprised but I am very happy I got it”. This shows Wibbelsman’s humbleness to receive this award but at the same time being excited for the recognition. Wibblesman started choir in his freshman year and encourages new students to try out choir as it has given him something fun to do in High School. After questioning Wibbelsman about what encourages to perform as well as he does Wibblesman replies with, “The smiles during and after each concert gives me encouragement. It makes me happy seeing people watch our concerts and enjoying them”. This shows one of the reasons why Wibblesman enjoys choir as much as he does. Being able to bring enjoyment to the people who watch the choir concerts gives Wibblesman the courage to perform above and beyond in choir and to keep doing what he loves doing. After asking Wibblesman how do students look to get into arts in Palisade High School Wibbelsman said, “ Definitely talk to the directors, I feel like Palisade has something for everyone here and the Arts directors are nice here and would be willing to show you the ropes and take you in”. Wibblesman shows his acknowledgement to Palisade High School’s directors and how he feels the directors are to their students. Congratulations to Wibbelsman for being an example of working hard in his passions and having a genuine love for Performing Arts.
