Palisade High School has multiple events and new arrangements coming up, including the relocation of the attendance office to a security vestibule, our food drive, and many more. When asked about all the bigger and more funnier stuff happening around the school or involving Palisade, Mr Bollinger responded with, “ Football playoffs are this weekend on November 22nd, the choir performances are coming up soon in January, so be prepared, we have MaMa Mia coming up shortly, that’s always really exciting. All the Christmas performances by the theater arts, band, orchestra, and choir performers are always really neat, seeing them all together, and a major thing happening is the new security vestibule. Most kids have noticed we have had security move out there towards the front of the school. We have our SRO and SSO moved out there as well. And the idea behind that is to have a more secure school. At some point, you have noticed we opened the different doors, so you have to come in next to the attendance secretary. As soon as we get the system set up, those doors will be locked at 8:05 and then you will have to be buzzed in like you notice they have at Mount Garfield youve got to get buzzed in, so we will have a more secure entrance but you know I dont think everything is perfect but it is I guess like locking your car, if somebody wanted to steal your car they will still find a way to do it but your not going to just leave your keys in the car running, so what it will do is it will deter people from trying to do that and your goal is to deter a bad guy from coming in and doing any kind of harm. So we are excited about that because as a school, it should feel much safer.” Staff, students, parents, and admin are all ready to take one step to be closer to being a safe school. Everyone is excited to have a safer community.
