Performing Arts, such as drama, and theatre, are all assets to the school that bring creativity, and fun vibes. Each week, Mrs. Mattney, a teacher of acting, theatre, and drama, for Palisade High School, chooses one student that sticks out to her for their work ethic, what they bring to class, and the top performing students. This week’s student of the week is Braewyn Brown, a Senior at Palisade High School actively involved in theatre. In an interview with Brown, about why she has chosen to stick with theatre, Brown said, “It’s a lot of fun, I get to hang out with my friends, and make something really fun. I get to let out a lot of energy in a way that’s just like fulfilling. It brings me a lot of joy, as I have been doing it since freshman year. During my years, I have tried out acting and done a little bit of tech stuff on the side.” Mrs. Mattney was asked about why she has chosen Brown for student of the week, her passion behind teaching, and how long she has been teaching theatre. Mattney said, “I’ve been teaching for 11 years, and I became a teacher because I was really passionate about theater, and I wanted to share that passion with the next generation. I chose Braewyn for student of the month because I feel like she really contributes a lot to the theater department. She is always at our workdays, always trying to get involved beyond just the bare minimum, and always putting in her best effort.” Congratulations to student of Performing arts Braewyn Brown, your hard work, dedication, and love for theatre has not been unnoticed. Keep up the great work Dawgs!

Hi, my name is Trinity Palmer, and I am a current Freshman here at Palisade High School in the DP program. I am a current staff writer for the Paw Post, and can’t wait! My love for cameras and writing began in 7th grade when I got involved with Yearbook at Mount Garfield Middle School. Outside of School I love boating, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, and traveling. I am looking forward to being a part of the team this year!
