With all of the upcoming winter sports, a great mention is the upcoming season of the Girls Wrestling Team here at Palisade High School. The pre-season practices started on September 15th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm following the school day. The Bulldogs coming back to the mats expressed a new energy throughout the sports community. The wide range of sports at Palisade High School makes sure that everyone can find their place and get to partake in the sport the student either wants to try out or continue to partake in. When talking to Amaiah Aguilar, a Sophomore at Palisade High School who had wrestled the year before, it really shined light on the upcoming season. She has been wrestling for three years and last year was her first year here at Palisade. Aguilar also shined some light on the achievements that the Girls accomplished last season “Last year, we won the varsity and JV State Championships, and we had a girl for almost every single weight class qualify for regionals and then go onto state. Also we won a lot of our tournaments.” The accomplishments of the girl wrestling bulldogs really excites the upcoming season. Aguilar also adds “Practices are going really good. They’re really fun, it’s preseason so it’s a lot of conditioning, but it’s really good. Also there are a lot of upcoming freshmen coming to the practices along with people returning from last year.” Seeing the girls on the mats encouraging the Freshmen to join and to even try wrestling out really shows the amount of community that the Palisade wrestling team has. Also the preparation and conditioning for the upcoming season really is uplifting the girls and keeping them focused on the season that is very quickly coming up. Get ready families and students,we are a very excited season to look forward to.

Penelope Waterhouse, Staff Writer
Hey there! My name is Penelope Waterhouse and I’m a Pre-DP Sophomore at Palisade High School. This is my first year writing as a staff writer for the Palisade Paw Post. I am super excited to be part of the Paw Post this year because this is my first time getting involved with Palisade High School and its programs. Outside of school I enjoy hanging out with my friends, family, and animals. Also reading, long boarding, and paddle boarding. I’m a very focused student and I enjoy math and French the most. I am looking forward to what I can give to the Paw Post and what I can get in return! Talk later Bulldogs!
