Wrestling is finally getting in action. Many are very excited about the sport starting up. One person is Caleb Brown Palisade’s wrestling coach. Brown said, “This is my 4th year coaching at Palisade High School. I started here as an assistant coach and became the head coach halfway through the 2023-2024 season.” Brown is a major part of the wrestling program. Not just because he’s the head coach but because of the bonds he’s built throughout the years. One thing Brown was very proud of last year was; “Finding more success because of the effort and commitment of athletes.” Some of Brown’s goals for this season are, “We want to compete to the best of our abilities and build on success and learn from every match.” Brown seems to focus on how the team is and how he knows they can compete. Brown also says, “We have an older and more seasoned team than last year, with almost an entire starting lineup returning and seven returning qualifiers and placers.” With a full returning lineup it greatly boosts the odds of a team being successful because they all already know how to compete at the high school level.
Brown explains, “Wrestling is an amazing sport and Palisade Wrestling is gearing up for another exciting season and we’re looking forward to putting on a show everytime we step on the mat.” Brown greatly makes the sport look and sound amazing. Wrestling is such a mental sport as said by so many people in the wrestling room at Palisade High School. Brown says, “Within having many returning wrestlers it gives a lot more leadership in the room and helps them train at and compete at a higher level.”
