This past Friday, October 31st, there was a car accident on the corner of North Avenue and 12th Street. This crash was a two car pileup accident, with a grey car and a black truck. The crash involved five students, two of which attend Palisade High School. The crash happened at around 8:00 p.m. during the same time at Palisade’s home football game against Eagle Valley.
Palisade Sophomore, Braxtyn Harvey, was in one of the vehicles. Harvey stated, “I felt bad, nervous, overall not so good.” When asked what happened, Harvey stated, “The truck ran into us, they were going 35 miles per hour over the speed limit. We were turning to go towards the stadium, and since they were going 35 miles per hour over the speed limit, they didn’t have any time to brake and they rammed into the truck’s core.”
Thankfully, Harvey stated, “I was in the safest part of the car, I was behind the passenger seat.” Harvey suffered a concussion, as well as some mild bruising to both of his legs. Thankfully it was not fatal and no one was severely injured or hospitalized.
Harvey also added his sister Kylynn Harvey and Hunter Bartelt were in the vehicle as well. When asking Bartelt what his injuries are, Bartelt stated, “The only injury I got was a wrist injury, and it’s not even that bad.” With what Bartelt and Harvey had said, the crash could’ve been worse but thankfully it wasn’t.
Thankfully, the accident was not as bad as it could have been, however, this serves as a reminder to drive safely and pay attention to the roads out there Bulldogs.
