Here at Palisade, the Student Council is a crucial element because it provides a space for kids to represent our school and their creativity throughout the building. It also builds a community, not only within the class itself, but across the board. The point of the student council is to come up with most of the school’s events, and to make kids feel more involved and have school spirit. Right now, the Student Council is planning our assemblies, Thanksgiving, and Christmas events. Before that, they had been planning the trick-or-treat street and Halloween events for some of October and September. When asked about why Katy Arcady a Junior wanted to be in the Student Council, Arcady responded with “ I really like being a part of the Student council, it helps me feel more connected with the school, being in the student council helps me be a part of this school’s community as a whole.” with out going into to much detail in fear of spoiling the Student Council up coming plans Genevieve Seymour a Sophomore at palisade says “ Well right now we are planning lots of stuff for our school stuff we know lots of kids are going to love and have fun doing.” Students believe the Student Council may be up to planning something out of the ordinary this year, since they won’t say much. In years past, they have done events such as Jingle Bell Rock hosted by Mr. Smith. So overall, the Student Council is planning some big events and such coming up for Palisade High School. So be sure to thank the Student Council for most of our events we have here at Palisade.
