Palisade High School is known for its impressive International Baccalaureate program making it a school that sticks out for its leadership and hard workers. As a Freshman, you start off by taking AP classes. During your Sophomore year, you continue taking high school AP classes, and getting all of your high school credits finished to graduate. Junior and Senior year, you then move onto taking college credit classes, where it’s known to be intense and hard core. For IB Seniors, this time of the year is exhausting. Right now IB Seniors are faced with having to do a project that helps spread advocacy for some communities. Seniors Yuray Ramirez-Martinez, Ximena Ortega and Claribel Lopez have chosen to do the CLD community (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education) through a Documentary. This documentary will reflect their heritage, and the struggle that many students come across while learning a second language. In a recent interview with Ramirez-Martinez about her project Ramirez-Martinez says, “As a part of IB, we need to make a project based on service activity and creativity. My group and I chose to do service and creativity because it serves the community best while filming it, and a documentary would bring the creative side to the project.” Ortega added to this by saying, “For this project I hope to demonstrate the importance of SLD programs in our communities and how their absence can have a negative impact. I believe that by creating this film we can capture the genuine opinions and thoughts of individuals and show that these programs help students in their daily lives.” Not only does this project highlight the strength and diversity of the CLD community, this project shows the hard work IB students put into their project.

Trinity Palmer, STAFF WRITER
Hi, my name is Trinity Palmer, and I am a current Freshman here at Palisade High School in the DP program. I am a current staff writer for the Paw Post, and can’t wait! My love for cameras and writing began in 7th grade when I got involved with Yearbook at Mount Garfield Middle School. Outside of School I love boating, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, and traveling. I am looking forward to being a part of the team this year!
