This week Palisade marching band once again amazed everyone by making it into the finals of the best marching bands in Colorado, they worked hard and amazed everyone in the finals.
It was no surprise that the Palisade marching band made it to the finals once again after their hard work and dedication. Last year was a little rough for them but they got back on track this year with making it fourth place out of the top ten best schools in Colorado. The Palisade marching band spent a total of 12 hours at Stoker Stadium showing off all their hard work to the judges and crowd along with many other marching bands. Every performance was amazing and the stands were roaring with applauses for the Bulldogs Marching Band according to Palisade Sophomore Jose Martinez who states, “I’ve been doing marching band since last year and this is my first year of being in the finals so it was scary but exciting knowing we made it this far.”
In the finals of the competition the crowd was everything but silent after Palisade’s performance as flags waved in the wind and the drum sticks flew in the air as the band played beautiful and intense music. The preparations for the dances and music took months of practice and hard work especially with the dance and acting scene while the instruments were playing in the background telling the story with musical notes instead of words. According to Martinez, “There was a lot of sweat and even tears put into making it to the finals but it was worth it to be able to bring a good name to Palisade High School.”
Even though Palisade didn’t make it to first place Palisade did make fourth out of all schools in Colorado which is still such a big honor to be able to bring home yet another trophy for our Bulldogs. This year is starting off to be great for the Palisade marching band and they can only grow from here with the support of friends and family that showed up and cheered extra loud for our Bulldogs.
