La la la la, ready, set, sing! We have seven not just smart, but talented singers that went to Denver, Colorado to sing for an all state choir event! On Thursday, January 9th choir students Blake Larson, Amie Salazar, Michaelyn Kutz, Evan Edwards, Siena Miller, Regyn Coolbaugh, and Braewyn Brown drove in a bus to Denver to get prepared to perform at the Buell in Denver on Saturday, the 11th of January. The concert ran from about three to five at night but our palisade kids performed at about four. All state choir is a group of highschool selected students who are chosen to perform in a processional choir and get to travel to different places to sing. Being in all states is a big deal and took a tough choir audition to get into but not for out seven palisade students who made it in!
After speaking with Blake Larson, Sienna Miller, and Amie Salazar about their inspiring experience with all states, all have said, “It was a great experience that we enjoyed greatly and would do again and again if we could.” Current choir members Blake Larson and Amie Salazar have both been in choir since their freshman year and have spoken about their experience with the Colorado all state choir. When speaking to senior Blake Larson he said , “ All state was my best experience I have ever had while being in choir throughout my four years of high school.” Palisade highschool has very few male members in our choirs but Blake Larson is very passionate with what he does along with Evan Edwards. “ I wish I would’ve auditioned for all states last year. It was a very fun experience and I would tell anyone who’s thinking about doing it to go for it because it most definitely was not an experience I regretted.” says Senior Blake Larson. Siena Miller has also been an addition to choir since her freshman year and is now a junior and doesn’t plan on dropping it her senior year. Siena has spoken about her personal experience and has said “ although the auditions were challenging, It was absolutely worth it because as young musicians it has helped us grow and was an inspiring experience” Siena being two out of seven of the all state members from palisade to make it in while only being a junior was truly impressive.
