The Palisade cross-country team was amazing on Friday the 20th in Ridgway, they were 16 points ahead of second place in Varsity Boys and only 12 off from first place in Varsity Girls. The cross-country team got first and second place as a team, despite the difficult course.
Chase Edmonds, a Boys Varsity runner got fourth place at the meet with a time of 21:21. Edmonds comments on the race and how he feels about it, “I feel really good about the outcome of the Ridgeway meet”, “There is always room for improvement, no matter how well you do, but I came to compete and gave it my all.” Edmonds did great but he mainly complimented his whole team on how well they all did, “I am so excited that Palisade placed first and second at the meet. Placing as a team is a huge accomplishment, and we couldn’t have done it without each other”, “As a team, we all did great. We showed up to compete, we competed, and we won”, After a great race, Edmonds cheered on his teammates and helped Palisade take first place. He is very proud of his team and talks about how they have improved, saying, “Coming into the season as the underdogs of the valley and now being primary competitors is a big deal,” Now seen as a big competitor, the Palisade cross country team has improved drastically since previous years. The entire team has improved as a whole and as individuals, continuing to place higher and higher at every meet they attend. Congratulations to the Palisade cross-country team for taking first place at Ridgway.
