Our girls soccer team is starting their season off with grit, creating upsets for teams they go up against. The team traveled 2 and a half hours to Moffat County High School on Tuesday, looking for yet another win under their belt. When they got there, they delivered exactly what everyone expected, winning over Moffat 10-0. A wide spread of players from the team were able to show off their talents and make goals that game. Others also made goal-scoring opportunities. Moffat was on Palisade’s half only a handful of times and the team kept their ground. Sophomore Kate Fricke had some input about the game; “The first few minutes we were doing well and got about 4 goals in the first few minutes, so that got us pumped up.” The girls’ soccer team has been playing hard this season and is only planning on getting better. The team made sure to show sportsmanship and put in the effort needed to win. They currently have 4 wins and 1 tie. They have been working hard since even preseason and will continue to have good outcomes and show what Palisade is capable of. Fricke added, “The team is really strong and we have great individual talent and we work well together.” Their next game is on April 4th against Eagle Valley. This is a crucial game for them, as they are currently fighting against Eagle for the number one spot in the league and are hoping to come back home with a win. Yet again their goal is to make it to playoffs. The team was stunned for many years and did not get first in their league, let alone make it to playoffs. This is a big deal for the girls and let’s wish them a good season!
