This Saturday, March 2nd, Palisade students and teachers alike will gather to bring awareness for those with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and in gratitude for the mobility of our bodies to run or walk a 5k.

The race is at Los Colonias Park at 9:30 AM, you can register the day of so it is not too late to sign up. The race is organized by Mrs. Noble and the interact club led by Shaeyln. “With interact club, we have to do a globally and locally focused outreach of some kind and my sister was recently diagnosed with MS so it was on my heart,”  says Mrs. Noble. She teaches Comp Lit and is the sponsor of the interact club. “I thought why not do something in gratitude for the mobility of our bodies so went for a 5k to bring awareness to MS and we’re gonna donate all of our funds to The MS Society,” says Noble. Mr Fitz is one of the biggest staff advocates for the 5k. Mr Fitz’s brother and mother have been diagnosed with MS. “Looking forward to trying to beat him in the race!,” says Mrs. Noble. There are currently 65 people signed up to run. In addition Palisade’s National Honor society will be volunteering at the event helping with registration, handing out bigs, distributing water and food, and setting up the course.
