The Supreme Court is caught in a tussle in how they should solve this free-right situation. Texas and Florida are concerned with the fact that certain companies like Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok can silence and choose what the public is allowed to see as people may not be hearing the whole story. So Texas and Florida are trying to create laws that take away the possibility for social media companies to control the news. But the problem isn’t their freedom of speech to say what they want? They are not forced to have another opinion on a subject. But isn’t it fair for people to make their own opinions on the news? Texas and Florida make a good argument because the main influence on people and their opinions is what is shown on social media Therefore it should tell the truth from both perspectives. This is what Trina Hobbs had to say on the fact.”It is not fair for people to be forced down a path and be forced to only have one opinion on the matter that changes the matter of free speech because they are not able to form a free opinion on the fact if they can only see one perspective online. Also if companies can do that and we know that they can censor the media when they want it creates a level of distrust with the media. It’s almost brainwashing, but on the other side of things it’s their company and we do not have to be using these means of social media there is a way to find the news so we fall victim almost by choice to what they want us to see.” we hope to see a fix to this problem in the future.
