This week we were delighted to interview some of the seniors on the Golf team. Ian Allen, Trevin Brannon, and Kale Potter are three out of five seniors. We asked them what the highlight of the season was and they said, “When we were coming down from Gunnison we got stuck in the canyon and after a while got bored and decided to play a game, we played mafia and it was a pretty good bonding experience. “They were asked about how the season went and Ian said, “We had a lot of growth with the new players on our team and the sophomores improved so much. Overall we grew more than any team.” They were asked what they were going to miss the most, and Trevin said, “Since it was my first year, I’m going to miss the dot trips before the game.” Kale said, “The family that we made along the way, we bonded so much during the season and the off-season.” Ian answered “I liked the bus rides and the tournaments the most. There are just different atmospheres and I really enjoyed that while playing the past four years.” They were asked what challenges they faced throughout the season. Kale said: “It’s not just a physical challenge it’s a mental one because when you go up there’s a lot of things that you have to take into account and it gets to you.” Trevin added to what Kale said “As much as golf is fun it’s very mentally challenging for me. The mental part of the game is what got me so be ready mentally and don’t let it get to you.” Ian said, “Play over the summer and use every resource that you can because golf is an easy sport, and using your resources helps you so much.” These athletes have spent the last years playing golf together, they will have many memories to look back on.
