It’s that time of year again. Baseball tryouts are right around the corner. and we have the best athletes trying to earn their spot on Varsity and senior veterans making their final season matter not only for the game but also for the new guys, making sure that they get the rhythm. Last year, the baseball boys made it to the final four for the first time in over 50 years, an amazing feeling, especially since the last time they made it to the final four was in 1969 when they took it all the way to the Championship and won. People may say, “But what about this year?” And head coach Nate Porter says, “ I believe that we are gonna win State every year” and this year is no different especially saying they are looking really good this year with coach Porter not looking for the best nine individual but instead he looks for the best total nine players the players that can play with the depth that they have and make sure that the philosophy of the team stays strong. They look nice and loose on the field, making nice plays and making sure that they don’t let the pressure get to them. Coach Nate Porter states, “ I focus on pushing the boys extremely hard in the Preseason,” as he has done for years, but when it comes to the games, he tells them to play loose, play hard, and have fun. They added a new JV head coach over the offseason named Zach Hughes, who used to play at Palisade a while back. And they are keeping the same Varsity coaching staff that they’ve had for three – four years. Joseph and Rocco Dewitt both players for the team said, “We have high expectations for this team this year” and so does everyone else at Palisade all anybody wants is a State title and if there’s any time to do it the time is now so come to their first game against Holy Family on Friday March 6th at 4:00 p.m. and cheer our boys on.

Dominic Boyet, Staff writer
Greetings, my name is Dominic Boyet, I am a staff writer in the Palisade Paw Post. This is my first year in the Newspaper and at this school I hope to join a school activity. My goal for the Newspaper is to be an editor. I like to play baseball, I love the broncos, listen to music, and hang out with friends like Tyler and my good friend Dallas. I am truly excited that I get the chance to join the Paw Post.
